Mod / 03
Give your world a soundscape.
A mod for building the sound environmentyou want in the world of Minecraft.
Spatial Audio System (SAS) is an audio system that plays your own audio files inside Minecraft.
Use it for station departure melodies, public announcements, background music in shops and much more.
Beyond simply playing sound, you can set where it can be heard, how it falls off and when it plays, creating audio effects that fit the spaces in your world.
Point of view
Sound is part of the space.
When recreating stations, commercial facilities or streetscapes, it is not only the look of buildings and equipment that matters, but also the sound you hear there.
Spatial Audio System was developed to place sound anywhere you like in the world and create a sound environment that suits each space.
Register an audio source, install a Playback Device and set the range where it can be heard. With these simple steps, you can add all kinds of sound to buildings and towns.
Your Own Audio
Spatial Audio System supports audio files in MP3, OGG and WAV formats.
Select an audio file on your PC from the Memory Device, write it to a Recording Medium, and set the medium in a Playback Device to play the sound.
You can also use recorded announcements, departure melodies and more, so you are free to build a sound environment that fits your purpose.
Registered audio data is stored on the server side and can be shared with other players in multiplayer.
Range & Falloff
How sound is heard depends on where the Playback Device is installed.
In Spatial Audio System, you can use the Range Board to set the space where sound can be heard as a three-dimensional range.
Besides the size of the range, you can adjust the falloff distance in each direction, giving sound a natural spread that suits the location.
For example, you can deliver announcements on a station platform to the area that needs them, while making them harder to hear in an adjacent building.
Playback & Automation
Spatial Audio System supports automatic playback as well as playing audio manually.
The schedule feature lets you register up to 16 Recording Media and set their playback order and count.
You can also start playback with a redstone signal, and output a signal while playing or when playback ends.
Combine it with railway equipment or building mechanisms to create announcements and sound effects that respond to the situation.

Media
Write audio files to Recording Media using the Memory Device.
Once registered, audio can be used in Playback Devices, and the data stored on the server is delivered to each player.
Playback
Playback Devices offer normal playback, which plays a single audio source, and scheduled playback, which plays multiple sources in order.
Normal playback also supports looping, so it works for sound you want to keep playing, such as background music.
Range
With the Range Board, you can finely adjust how far sound reaches from a Playback Device.
Falloff can also be set, so you can build playback environments suited to the location, such as indoor announcements or station announcements.
Capabilities
Register MP3, OGG and WAV audio files from the Memory Device.
Save recorded announcements, music, sound effects and more to Recording Media and play them from a Playback Device.
Register up to 16 Recording Media in a schedule.
You can set the playback order and how many times each medium plays, enabling automatic playback that combines multiple announcements.
Specify the range sound reaches as a three-dimensional space, and set falloff for each direction.
Create a sound spread that matches the shape and purpose of a building.
Play audio when a redstone signal is received.
Playback Devices can also output signals, letting you control circuits based on conditions such as while playing, on start, on stop and on finish.
Registered audio data is managed on the server and delivered to each player as needed.
Players who join while audio is playing can hear it from partway through, in step with the current playback position.
Through the public API (belugalab.sas.api), external mods can instruct audio playback.
Playback-completion notifications are also supported, so you can implement sound control that works together with other equipment and systems.
Sound Handy is an item for remotely operating your own Playback Devices.
Select a registered Playback Device from a list and control playback, stopping, range checks and more right from your hand.
You can also highlight the target device and edit a Range Board from a distance.
